Ministry files
EMIS attendance and student-roll files, ready to upload.
Patoo makes the attendance file and the student-roll file that a Jamaican high school uploads to the Ministry's EMIS, from the registers and records the school already keeps.
What you get.
- EMIS attendance file
A CSV file made from your morning and afternoon registers, ready to upload.
- Student-roll file
Made from the student records already in Patoo, so nothing is typed twice.
- Census tables
Figures for the Ministry's census from the data you already keep.
- PATH list
The students whose attendance is under 85%, ready to check.
- One-month absence alert
Patoo flags students who have been absent for a month without an explanation.
Where the attendance comes from.
- Registers on a phone
Teachers take the morning and afternoon register in a phone browser. The register works offline and saves when the signal comes back.
- Late arrivals at the gate
Record students who come in late.
- Backup registers for power cuts
Print a backup register for the day the lights go out.
What Patoo does not do.
There is no live link to EMIS. Patoo makes the files and you upload them yourself. Patoo feeds EMIS. It does not replace it.
Questions
Quick answers.
Does Patoo connect straight to EMIS?
No. Patoo makes the EMIS attendance file and the student-roll file, and your school uploads them. There is no live link to EMIS.
What is the PATH list?
It is the list of students whose attendance is under 85%, made from the registers, so the school can follow up on them.
Does the register work without internet?
Yes. The morning and afternoon registers can be taken offline on a phone and saved when the signal comes back. Only the register works offline. Other pages need internet.
What if the power is out on a school day?
Patoo can print backup registers for those days.
